We’re over the moon as it has been announced that we have achieved a finalists spot in 7 different categories for this year’s Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards. We are also the company who has been named as finalists in the most categories which shows how fantastic our team have been in the last year.

The awards we have made the final for are:

• Business of the Year Small to Medium Award
• Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year Award
• Best Use of Technology Award
• Family Business of the Year Award
• Excellence in Customer Commitment Award
• Business of the Year East Herts Award
• Export Business of the Year Award

It’s a fantastic achievement for the Allendale Group as this is the first time we have applied to any awards and it shows the hard work undertaken by everyone throughout the departments at the Allendale Group. Well done to everyone in the team and let's keep our fingers crossed for the award finals which will be taking place on June 13th 2019 at St Albans Cathedral.

More information about the finals can be found here on the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards website.

We recently said goodbye to a long-serving employee of The Allendale Group, Andrew Brand, as he becomes our first retired employee. Andrew has been part of the team as our Machine-DRO Technical Product Specialist for 7 years and will be greatly missed by our team. Andrew was very well liked by all staff and customers alike, and his wealth of Engineering experience helped the Machine DRO range to become the success it is today.

Andrew’s retirement is our loss, but a well-deserved respite for him and we hope he enjoys his retirement, as well as some retirement gifts from the company. Andrew is planning to write a book and work on restoring a dolls house during in retirement – so we may well hear from him as a customer in the future!

As a business, we are always looking to develop our employees in all areas of the business. Recently, we have hired Beth who has become our first apprentice and has joined the Allendale Group as a Business Administrator Apprentice, as our Admin team continues to grow.

Beth studied English, Art and Film Studies at A-level and was unsure on what career path to take once her A-levels were finished and believed that an apprenticeship was the best route to take when it comes to career development whilst earning money. As Beth hasn’t had much working experience apart from working full time at Wetherspoons, it was hard to find a job as many companies required you to have experience, whereas apprenticeships are a good platform for those without much experience. After applying through Hertfordshire Regional College, Beth found our apprenticeship position online and thought it would be the perfect fit for her and liked the idea of progressing through the admin department.

Being creative as well as many other skills, we believe Beth was the perfect candidate and we wish Beth all the best as she joins a friendly and ambition business. Welcome to the team, Beth!
